"Robots in London"

Films: Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes (2010)

Alias: Thorpe Holmes/Spring-Heeled Jack, Anesidora Ivory, Robot giant octopus, Robot Tyrannosaurus Rex, Robot dragon

Type: Natural

Location: Ocean/Civilized Area

Height/Weight: Ranges from that of average humans to that of large ships.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Everyone is familiar with the great fictional detective known as Sherlock Holmes. Whether he's in literature or being played by some handsome actor (or unfortunately giving Steven Moffat work), there's rarely a story with him that doesn't tell a good mystery. And then you have this black sheep of the bunch. One that tells a mystery...and then fills it with giant robotic monsters. Because of course it does.

History: Turns out that Holmes has a brother. That is, a mentally insane brother named Thorpe that has recently donned the alias of Spring-Heeled Jack. His body almost entirely mechanical now, he is a genius when it comes to machines, and has used his skills to create minions of varying shapes and sizes. His current goal is to use his robotic beings to destroy London and take over what's left. Only the dynamic duo of Holmes and Watson can hope to stop him.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: After Thorpeā€™s plan is set in motion, he drops all subtlety and pilots a robotic dragon to destroy everything. Thankfully, as Watson disposes of the Ivory automaton before she can blow up the Queen, Sherlock takes out the flying machine while in the air, shooting his brother when he tries to strike back on the ground. However, in the modern day, Ivory inexplicably returns to Thorpe's grave...

Powers/Abilities: The robot dragon can breathe fire.

Weakness: Heavy artillery.

Scariness Factor: 3.5-Spring-Heeled Jack and Ivory are certainly a rather villainous team. Sure, the acting isn't the greatest, and Thorpe is a very hammy guy, but you got to admire how intimidating the former can look in the full-body suit (so long as he keeps his helmet on). Of course, Ivory is a silent assassin for the most part, so she has that going for her. But the rest of Thorpe's creations, big and powerful as they may be, are done in shoddy CGI, so it just plain diminishes their ability to intimidate. The dragon looks nice, though.

Trivia: -Spring-Heeled Jack gets his name from an old Victorian-era urban legend of a being said to jump around the place eluding capture. Descriptions vary, but most describe him as a demonic-looking figure that wore black and could even use magic. To this day, no one's really sure what people saw when they brought up Spring-Heeled Jack.

-Thorpe was played by Dominic Keating, who has more experience being a voice actor than an actor. It's only fitting he's in a suit most of the time. Then again, voice actors are awesome in their own right.

Mainly, because you keep throwing stuff like this at them!

Spring Heeled Vader.
SCREW SUBTLE MYSTERIES! At least, that's what this movie says.

Guess this guy had a gender reveal party American style.

Seems like an unfair fight. Flammable materials much?
This is what happens when you import dinosaurs from Skull Island to Britain!

"I am FIRE! I...am...WINDOWS."

Rent-a-Kraken.

Even Victorian villains admit dinosaurs are cool.

Don't ask. Just accept the fact that she's steampunk inside.
